CxC® Technology
Over the past few decades, the golf industry has moved from persimmon to steel to titanium to bi-metals and tri-metals… now there’s a movement towards composites.
We have proven -through independent robotic tests- that as swing speeds increase, metal woods generate higher spin rates. With the MalibuWoody® the opposite is true. As swing speeds increase, spin rates decrease.
The all new MalibuWoody® is the only golf club on the market with patented “Legal Cork®” engineered high in the club head. Coupling the “Legal Cork®” with a patented super-light Ryton® soleplate, creates a high center of gravity, allowing golfers to get a desired distance while playing a more controllable and higher loft.
The MalibuWoody® is only 265cc’s (A Centuries Old Standard), not the bigger than a bucket 460cc metal clubs.
- Ball/club impact causes a shock/sound wave of vibration running up the shaft. This is noisy “dirty” air and has an extreme negative effect on the stability of the shaft, which in turn has an unfavorable affect on the degree of ball dispersion. The louder the sound…the more vibration. The more vibration...the more the negative the effect. To control this detrimental effect, heavier and stiffer shafts are required.
- The proprietary ceramic composite of the MalibuWoody® -coupled with Legal Cork®- defuses this impact sound, and in turn reduces the shock/sound wave producing harmonic stability.
- Because of this “harmonic stability”, golfers are able to use lighter weight and more flexible shafts.
Legal Cork®
Cork-filled (corked) baseball bats clearly deliver extra POP and distance to a baseball. Ever wonder what the MLB would be like if they were legal? What about cork-filled golf clubs?
The all-new MalibuWoody® driver from CGC is the first-ever to successfully patent a golf club containing natural, solid cork. The United States Patent Office confirms our claim that this is a unique application and has issued patents exclusively to Caldwell Golf.
Furthermore, the United States Golf Association (USGA LETTERS), has certified that the MalibuWoody®, "locked and loaded" with Legal Cork™, conforms with the USGA Rules of Golf and can be used in any amateur or professional tournament. The unique performance dynamics of Legal Cork™ is only available from Caldwell Golf. We've integrated Legal Cork™ into our high-tech and proprietary Ceramix® composite technology, producing unparalleled feel and performance.
